Snow Cabin Creations...

It was a cold and overcast day... and ... uhm, my computer decided to hybernate. It just died, went to sleep, took a break from everything: It crashed. It left me feeling separation anxiety. I need my computer for work, and for accessing SL, and for writing myself E-mails when I can't walk or just want to amuse myself; I laugh when I think that I might actually respond to a message I sent meee. But I digress...

Okay, so that feeling of "Oh no, what am I gonna do now?" only lasted a few minutes, until an ah-ha! moment came to me: Use my external HD to see what I could save in case the 'puter just was not in the mood to work any longer.

Before the "great crash" of 2005 (which I am cautiously dubbing it with the hope that it won't happen again this year), this is what I made for my snow cabin and was in the midst of trying to share here ... when, well, I don't want to go back to that moment the monitor went dark. My screenshots were saved of what I had made: the workstation and southwestern picture; a fireplace and small stand; and, too, my kitchen appliances...

Those are absolutely beautiful appliances and fireplace etc. You did a wonderful job. I really want to see it in person one of these days. You could make some money with them I would bet.

If you like those appliances, you really should see my dishwasher - LOL.

Wouldn't selling things mean that I'd need to interact more with others? I think if one were doling out "ratings" based on such: I wouldn't fare too very well. I barely see or go around others in SL (as it is).

I wouldn't even know where to begin :).

Sierra, you wouldn't have to interact with people if you didn't want to. We could help you set up a "vending machine" in the public world with things you'd like to sell. People pay the vending machine...they get the item...you get the money...and you don't have to deal with people at all.

This would be a good topic for an inworld meeting. Maybe a little inworld tutorial on how to set up vending machines for people on Brigadoon who want to sell things in the mainland.

Yes SL is set up so you never even have to interact with the mall owner even if you do not want to!

Once you have your mall booth set up vending machines (at home or on brigadoon)or just make the item forsale and sell a copy! then you find a mall and an open booth You touch the "Rent-o-matic" and it tells you the prim count rent and min and max # of weeks. You pay the machine. It shrinks to a small blue box and you fill the booth with your stuff. You then get money anytime someone bye it.

FYI Most booths are 10x10x10 meters. You pay rent per prim normaly 2-3 L$ prim/week. So if you get a 20 prim you should expect about 40 L$ week rent for it. sell one item for 50 L$ a week you make money.

The realy hard part is going around to all the locations most vendors have to change stuff.
